Investments, Portfolio Ref Nos (e.g. Cofunds)

Some investment companies, like Cofunds, refer to their clients via a Portfolio Reference Number, which is required in addition to the individual policy references. To add such a number, starting from Durell’s Main Menu...

  • Click the “People” button and go into “Individual Clients”
  • Find the client in question
  • Click the “Signpost” options button
  • Select “Online contract enquiry setup”, as shown below
  • Find the company in the “Setup for insurer” dropdown
  • Enter the client’s portfolio reference for that company
  • Once you’ve entered the client’s portfolio reference it will automatically appear on every policy with that company, next to the words “Policy holder” at the top centre of the screen, as shown below...

...and also on valuations, as shown below...

You can also pass the portfolio reference number to your Word templates. The field is called “Special – Insurer reference”, which you’ll find in the table called “Policy – Special info”, as shown below....

Note that in order to see the correct portfolio reference in a Word document you must launch Word from one of the client’s policies for the investment company in question. This is because any one client might have different portfolio references with different investment companies, so the system will not know which to display until you’ve selected a policy.
