General, Data Protection Act

You are required to keep your client data secure and not to bother your clients with unsolicited correspondence. To this end you should ensure that each of your Durell users has a different password, known only to that user and the system administrator (see “Set-up, Users”). Moreover you should train all of your users to exit from their Durell systems when they leave their desks, so that passers-by cannot view client data in their absence.

To avoid inadvertently including dissenting clients in a mailshot you should set-up one of your user-definable fields as “Mailshot”, like that shown above (see “Set-up Field Names”). Then before issuing a mailshot (see “Mail Shot, Bulk Selection of Clients”) you should run a selection to exclude all users whose “Mailshot” field is set to “No”, as shown below.
