Clients, Business Type

The FSA requires various reports where clients are categorised as either…

So you should use the “Business type” dropdown in order to appropriately tag your clients for FSA reports.

Business Type in Policies

The client’s “Business type” is automatically forwarded to all new policies, without the need for manual entry. However you must manually select the Business type for existing policies, as illustrated, unless you use the bulk set-up facility described below.

Bulk Set-up of Business Types

You can set the “Business Type” for all of a client’s policies via the “Signpost” button. To do this, starting from a given client record…

Set All Clients & Policies to “Retail”

Use the settings shown below to set the “Business Type” for all of the clients in the current address set to “Retail” (e.g. all of your Individual Clients)…

…then pass this “Business Type” to all of their policies with the settings shown below.

Re-set Just Commercial Clients and Policies

Having set all of your clients and policies to “Retail”, you should then use the MS markers (see Mail Shot, Manual Selection) to select the “Commercial” customers and then use the settings shown below to set just their address records to “Commercial”…

…after which you should use the settings shown below to pass this “Business Type” to just their policies…

You should then repeat this process for the “Commercial over £1 million” business type, and other address sets, as required.
